GALL MIDGES OF THE GENUS BALDRATIA (DIPTERA, CEDIDOMYIIDAE) IN KAZAKHSTAN

11 species of gall midges, belonging to the genus Baldratia, including 5 new species, were found in West, South and South-West Kazakhstan. There are 29 species in the genus Baldratia. The first description of males and females of B. anabasis Mohn, known only by larvae, is given. The diagnosis of the genus and a table for identification are presented. All species of the genus develop on plants of the family Chenopodiaceae in a desert zone. In Kazakhstan four species were found on Salsola, three species on Haloxylon, two species on Anabasis, and one species on Suaeda and on Climacoptera.
