摘要
Electrification of remote communities worldwide represents a key necessity for sustainable development and advancement of the 17 United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, it is a prerequisite to the creation of numerous other infrastructure and economic systems, including agriculture, health care, education, clean water, sanitation, transportation, and telecommunications. With over 1 billion people still lacking access to electricity, finding new methods to provide safe, clean, reliable, and affordable energy to off-grid communities deserves to be a dynamic area of research. This is the reason that so many papers have been written on the design, optimization, and construction of electrification microgrids. © 2013 IEEE.
