摘要：
Taking place in an exact and determined space, rio de janeiro's carnival is nevertheless a point of intensification that deals with a lot more than just the triviality of every day life. Instead, the event allows the city to appear in its evident multiplicity, in the cosmopolitan complexity of its multicoloured aquarium, and to show itself as the city which shelters " the most overwhelming civilization of brazil", the city which, experimenting an atopic and anachronic excess of sensations, achieves ultimate pleasure. what the poet's place according to the poem? therefore, this essay intends to interpret mario de andrade's poem " carnaval carioca".
