摘要：
Life conditions have strongly deteriorated in the large Greek urban areas and more specifically in Athens and Thessaloniki, after 2008. Poverty, unemployment and exclusion hit an important part of their inhabitants who prefer migrating towards rural areas, less exposed to the economic crisis. This paper aims to examine the changes in the spatial distribution of population between 2001 and 2011, focusing on the impacts of the crisis.
