MALE POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION

Male postpartum depression has drawn the attention of scholars and researchers because it is a subject less known. The inclusion of the husband in the treatment of male postpartum depression can reduce the stress of the mother and support the development of competence of the couple in their roles of parents and spouses. This study aimed to highlight the importance of broadening knowledge about male postpartum depression today. This was a literature survey in scientific journals in the period from April to October 2015. What was realized in relation to parent-child interaction during the first days after birth is that there is a possibility of occurrence of a post-depression delivery in humans. However, it is necessary the expansion of new research on the subject of male postpartum depression because there are few studies produced until now.
