Challenges of the Convention on Biological Diversity

Biodiversity is undeniably a vital component in sustaining human society on this planet. Its maintenance, however, is continuously at hazard owing to the modus operandi of most world economies. The United Nations Organization having considered these universal pending risks called all nation members to discuss and draft an international statute regarding conservation and sustainable usage of biodiversity. In consequence of which the Biological Diversity Convention was presented and approved during the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development held in 1992. This Convention is a great step towards the regulating of this issue. It contains however, some weak points and numerous innovations that transform it into an intricate maze for national legislatures of nation members to incorporate the CBD premises. The main goal of this work is to overcome this challenge by regarding comprehensively the historical context, the text, the premises, as well as the meetings with the parts which will be necessary to implement the programs.
