Current China-India Relations and Economic Cooperation

Thanks to the "Dialog on China-India Energy Cooperation" conducted in April 2006, a continuous and comprehensive development have been witnessed by both countries. Since then, their economic cooperation has deepened and expanded. The visit by Chinese President Hu Jintao to India have only resulted in enhanced friendship, promoted understanding and mutual trust, broadened areas of cooperation and charted the course for the future development of the two countries. In the area of economics, both countries started contemplating long-term trade and economic cooperation. In addition, bilateral trade among the two has witnessed rapid growth, as well mutual investment among the two. They have also increased efforts on energy cooperation.
