Boomer Boom for Hospitality: Opportunities and Challenges

The first baby boomers in the United States turned 60 in 2006. Many have predicted booming markets for a variety of products and services and the potential for "gray" markets and "silver" industries. This growing segment of the population will demand new services and policies from the hospitality industry, including flexible employment, historically uncharacteristic of the industry. This article discusses the impending Boomer boom that represents tremendous opportunity for the hospitality industry and researchers, but also presents serious challenges.
