摘要
This paper gives a procedure for analyzing the behavior of sound waves in pipe networks. The method combines the exact solutions for the pipe with those obtained from finite-element models of bends and junctions. These are necessary to allow for the fact that when a planewave mode is incident upon a junction, the natural modes of the junction control volume are excited and affect the resulting propagation of the wave. Measurements of the transmission loss across a simple network consisting of straight pipes, “tee” and “cross” junctions, and right-angled bends were made. Although only two-dimensional finite elements were used, the results agreed very well with those predicted with the theory up to the cutoff frequency for the pipes. © 1990, Acoustical Society of America.
