摘要
In little more than a decade, the securitization theory initially pushed forward by the Copenhagen School has secured a place within International Security Studies and in International Relations at large. Over the years, ontological and epistemological questions have been object of in-depth discussion in our field of study, as a consequence of which new research agendas have arisen. The paper begins by reviewing the context in which securitization theory comes to the fore, thereby paving the way for the presentation of its original framework of analysis. Bearing in mind the various critiques and revisions that have dealt with the theory, this paper proposes a research agenda organized around five key issues. The goal ultimately is to put new energy into debates around this theoretical framework, which might be of particular interest for the Spanish-speaking academic community.
