The standard molar enthalpies of formation of CdI2(s) and Cs2CdI4(s) have been derived from their enthalpies of solution in H2SO4(aq). The values ΔfHom(CdI2, s, 298.15 K) = -(205.3±0.9) kJ·mol-1and ΔfHom(Cs2CdI4, s, 298.15 K) = -(920.4±1.4) kJ·mol-1have been obtained, which are in good agreement with the values derived from literature. © 1993 Academic Press Ltd.
