INTRODUCTION. School Heads who practice or want to practice leadership need a specific training. That is, they need to gain knowledge, skills and attitudes regularly working and updating them. The assessment of the training involves the application in the workplace of skills after they have participated in training processes of today's society. It is desired that a School Head knows and covers more about the organization and management of schools. But, also, it is about the conflict of resolutions, human resource management or emotional management. METHOD. This paper shows the main lessons and experiences that derive from an evaluative study of training programs for School Heads in Catalonia, taking the Decree 155/2010 as a start point. RESULTS. Our results highlight the importance of defining training programs that meet the needs of School Heads. The training of School Heads should be focused on improving their professional practices but always guided by certain high values that must be promoted openly. Democratic values, especially, respect, justice and equity should be present both in the content and the processes of the educational interactions between students and teaching staff. To develop modalities and training strategies aimed at Universities and Institutions has allowed achieving coherent response to current trends, under the Decree of School Heads, on Promoting Education Policy. DISCUSSION. We agree with Fullan (2015) when he points that the School Head develops skills to lead the change and his involvement in obtaining sustainable results over time. We concur with Cabero (2006) on the conversion of telematic devices, resources and tools related to e-learning and b-learning. Nowadays, essential tools in the training.
