Therapeutic strategies in hepatitis C. Due to the relatively high cost of the antiviral therapies used to treat the hepatitis C virus (HCV), access to these medications is prioritised. The indications, currently restricted to patients with at least hepatic fibrosis at a moderate to severe stage, are set to gradually widen. The treatment strategy is based on one or several second generation direct-acting antivirals, combining or not ribavirin and/or pegylated interferon alpha. (C) 2015 Elsevier Masson SAS.
