摘要：
Background. The treatment of anterior cruciate ligament ruptures in children and adolescents is controversially discussed due to the epiphyseal plate still being open. Operative therapy. The results of new studies show that there is little danger of permanent damage to the epiphyseal plates due to an operation if certain criteria are adhered to. The results demonstrate that the advantages of operative treatment clearly outweigh conservative therapy and postponing the operation until closure of the epiphyseal plates.
