QUALITATIVE-ANALYSIS OF POLLINATION OF SILVER FIR (ABIES-ALBA MILL)

By means of quantitative analysis of pollination of ovules from middle - productional part of fifteen megastrobiles collected form five trees of silver fir (A. alba) the following values were detected: mean number of pollen grains caught by stigmatic apparatus of one ovule 3.97-10.24 (set mean 7.11), if only the pollinated ovules are taken as a basis for cacullation the quoted value oscilates between 4.46-10.66 (set mean 7.55), the mean proportion of non-pollinated ovules 1-11 % (set mean 6 %), mean proportion of ovules pollinated by 1-10 pollen grains 56-83 % (set mean 71 %), mean proportion of ovules pollinated by more than 10 pollen grains 6-41 % (set mean 23 %), maximum number of pollen grains caught by stigmatic apparatus of one ovule - 39. In opposite to the values of trees growing in the valley (1, 2, 3) all studies quantitative values were significantly higher at trees from the ridge (4, 5).
