摘要
Within the pressurized thermal shock research program conducted at MPA Stuttgart, large-scale hollow cylinders have been tested under axial tensile loading and rapid inner surface cooling of the 320°C hot specimen wall. The experimental goal was the investigation of the fracture behaviour of circumferential fatigue sharpened flaw notches on the inner cylinder surface. By means of numerical simulation of the experiments, the fracture mechanics assessment of the crack extension could be validated with the experimental results. One of the five experiments is in detail described and experimental and computational results are compared. © 1990.
