Parish structure in the Southeast of Castile at the end of the Middle Ages

During the later Middle Ages, the parish is the fundamental core in order to the social organization, and very especially in the rural area. Departing from the observation of a concrete zone of Castile (East La Mancha), this article shows the elements that compose a rural parish, distinguishing the material of the human aspects. Likewise some considerations are contributed concerning the categories of parishes and of clergymen, and to the special importance of the participation of the lay ones in some parochial tasks, though the above mentioned collaboration tends to disappear at the beginning of the Modern Age. Finally the text learns with a scheme that clarifies the exposed thing.
