METHOTREXATE IN RHEUMATOID-ARTHRITIS

Methotrexate has been more widely accepted as a treatment for RA in the United States than in Europe, though dermatologists have been much readier to accept it than have rheumatologists. Although its well known hepatotoxicity remains a drawback, this is now regarded as manageable. Lung hypersensitivity may be troublesome, however, and wider use in RA is now advocated, though with caution not overenthusiasm.
