摘要：
Main objective of submitted paper is to introduce qualitative research methods used in geographical research and using two examples of case studies to show different options of their use. First method is an interview which was used to detect socio-spatial differences in relatively homogenous urban environment. Second method described in the paper is mental mapping used in research on places of fear in urban district environment.
