FOR THE SOCIOLOGY OF KNOWLEDGE OF SYMMETRY

One of the components of the sociological importance of the phenomenon of symmetry is the factual nature of the phenomenon of symmetry itself. A symmetry relation is not an "error" that can or should be corrected, it is, as mentioned, a starting point, that initiates the thinking process toward independent movements already at the moment of the critical investigation. By shaping of a sociology of knowledge on symmetry relations there arise three fundamental questions. On the one side, there is not only one alternative to the Seinsgebundenheit, but there are also several possible alternatives to it. On the other side, starting from the phenomenon of symmetry, there were be also several different concepts of sociology of knowledge. And, thirdly, the criteria and also the definition of the sociology of knowledge can also change because of the new relations between knowledge and its new determinations. Symmetry means a definitely new starting point for this discipline.
