ON THE ASYMPTOTIC SOLUTION OF SCATTERING FROM SLENDER BODIES BY THE 2-VARIABLE TECHNIQUE

摘要
A formal construction of an approximate solution of scattering from rigid slender bodies by the two-variable expansions method is presented. The determination of the solution is obtained by modifying the usual concept of secular term which is not appropriate to singular perturbation problems. It is proved that matched asymptotic and two-variable solutions are asymptotically equivalent in the near and intermediate fields.
