摘要
A new method of preparing filled networks has been developed. Well-characterized, colloidal iron(III) hydroxide particles are incorporated into chemically cross-linked poly(vinyl alcohol) gels. Evidence for the random distribution of individual particles is provided by transmission electron microscopy. A filler-induced gel collapse was observed when the strength of repulsion forces between filler particles is decreased by the screening of Coulombic interactions with electrolytes.
