摘要：
Philanthropic research funding is complementary to the portfolio of funding mechanisms available to dermatologic departments. In view of a decrease in public research funding, this form of funding will become increasingly important. Knowledge about financing options, application and evaluation procedures may place dermatologists and dermatology departments in a competitive position.
