摘要
Iran is a vast country with an approximate population of 75 million. The high consumption of electricity by the Iranian populace has left the limited power plants here straining under the weight of consumer demand. To rectify this situation, the government of Iran has taken the decisive step of investing heavily in the construction of various types of power plants. This undertaking calls for effective project managers who can cope with problems that may lead to delays in the construction process. The objectives of this study are: 1) to examine the unique technical skills required for the efficient management of power plant construction projects in Iran; 2) to identify the differences between various types and phases of power plants. Project structures, scope and deliverables, requirements and objectives as well as risk and opportunities differ significantly according to the type and phase of the power plant.
