摘要
Two-dimensional natural convection flow in a porous medium near a semi-infinite vertical wall, the temperature of which is a power function of the distance from the leading edge, is investigated. The approximate variational solution of the flow and temperature fields are obtained using the governing principle of dissipative processes. The governing partial differential equations of the system are reduced to simultaneous polynomial equations using the variational formulation. The shear stress and the rate of heat transfer at the wall are obtained for various values of permeability parameter and wall temperature exponent.
