摘要
Today's surge arrester technology is tested to the IEEE C62.41-1991 (IEC 60-1) 8 x 20mus current pulse waveform. The IEC 1024-1, 10 x 350mus waveform, sets a new performance standard for lightning current arresters. In order to address lightning energies, a new technology is now available to provide up to 60kA of surge discharge by the 10 x 350mus waveform test. The FLASHTRAB module effectively limits the residual current to the 10 x 350mus waveform from a 50kA test level, allowing 4kV to be easily shunted to ground by a down line MOV-based surge protective device (SPD).
