A WIDE-APERTURE X-RAY SOURCE FOR PREIONIZATION OF LARGE-VOLUME ELECTRIC-DISCHARGE LASERS

摘要
It is shown that a high-voltage diffuse atmospheric-pressure discharge in an electric-discharge system formed by a series of wires and a flat mesh is the highly effective X-ray source. At the source aperture of 40 x 200 cm the dose provided in the active medium of electric-discharge CO2 lasers with the volume up to 0.28 m3 exceeded 60-300 R.
