摘要
The effects of various gas phases of CO2, CH4, H2 and O2 (in N2) on the metabolism in vitro of rumen ciliate protozoa were monitored in terms of changes in the rates of production of acetate, butyrate and propionate. Different atmospheres resulted in considerable differences in the proportions of volatile fatty acids produced by the protozoa, suggesting that the type of headspace gas used in studies of these protozoa can profoundly influence the results obtained.
