MULTIMEDIA INFORMATION-SYSTEM USING A REWRITABLE COMPACT-DISK

It is necessary that the disc format of the rewritable CD Compact Disc should be compatible with that of conventional CD and CD-ROM. However, the rewritable CD has some problems, because the data form of it differs from that of CD and CD-ROM. We have developed a new format that has upper compatibility with CD and CD-ROM to solve these problems. We have applied the new format to the rewritable CD system using a magneto-optical disc. As a result, this format is proved to be suitable for the rewritable CD, and the multimedia information system is achieved.
