As the basis of environmental education and culture strategy for sustainable development

Today we talk about environmental education as the most effective to raise awareness about the need to preserve the environment in order to achieve a better quality of life today and for coming generation's means. Despite efforts to conserve natural resources has not been able to curb environmental deterioration, possibly because we fail to be aware and respectful attitude towards nature. A review on the latest about the importance of environmental education as a basis to optimize current and future research culture became. This review article discusses qualitatively the scientific literature available on Science Direct databases, Scielo, Redalyc and official websites, using as search words: environment, culture, education, society, sustainability. Environmental education, a transverse axis, culture and environmental education and education for sustainable development, and establishing the environmental dimension as a strategy for progress in social aspects: information relevant to the proposed objective, which is presented in 3 sections was obtained economic and its contribution to sustainable development of our society. Environmental education is a fundamental pillar of generating changes in attitude and aptitude and to strike a balance between humans and their environment. it requires the support of almost every discipline, so that the resolution of environmental problems must involve the active participation of a wide range of people and institutions.
