Possibility of Using a Single Three-Component Station Automatic Detector-Locator for Detailed Seismological Observations

This paper describes an automatic detector-locator of seismic events that implements new approaches in the detection and location of seismic events using a single three-component station. The detector is applied to the data from the single Hornsund three-component station (HSPB) located in the south of the archipelago of Svalbard. The result of data processing show that the detector confidently selects and locates weak seismic events, which in turn sheds light on some features of the local seismicity and geophysical processes.
