ECO-EFFICIENCY AND CLEANER PRODUCTION: AN ANALYSIS OF PUBLICATIONS IN FOUR BRAZILIAN JOURNALS FROM THE PRODUCTION ENGINEERING FIELD

摘要
The environmental management has emerged as a strategic issue for many organizations. From this subject others have appeared such as eco-efficiency and cleaner production. Those subjects have gained relevance. However, there is a lack of knowledge on these subjects either in the academia or in industry. In this context, the present work aims at performing a bibliography analysis on the publications of the terms eco-efficiency and cleaner production in four journals from production engineering. The following indicators were considered: total number of publications identified, number of published articles, definitions used by the authors, number of key-words, and number of articles related to those to subjects as well as the references from those articles. It is concluded that seven publications from the four studied journals deal with cleaner production and no publications on eco-efficiency was identified. This result demonstrates that both subjects are not extensively approached by those journals from production engineering field.
