摘要
The topic of this paper is the problem of organizing pedestrian crossings with the aim of ensuring pedestrian traffic mobility. Pedestrians are defined as the most vulnerable group in traffic which carries high risk for possible casualties and many actions and measures have been introduced to ensure safety. This paper proposes practical measures that can improve mobility and safety of pedestrian traffic. Non-motorised traffic issues have become topical again and the advantages that are gained by their revisiting are the consequences of the growth of motorised traffic in urban centres. The level of mobility is an important part of planning future road layout, which is achieved by accurate marking of pedestrian crossings aimed at increasing the level of pedestrian safety. The independence of pedestrian traffic from other means of transport is the main and the most important feature when considerable interaction with the environment is established. Insufficient analysis of the visual field safety as well as the psychological perception of the individual in traffic have been frequently argued as the main disadvantage of pedestrian crossing construction. Therefore the paper proposes measures which enhance the safety of pedestrian crossings that lead to increased mobility of pedestrians. The purpose of this paper is to point out to current issues and problems in planning pedestrian crossings. The aim is to show that the introduction of additional measures increases safety and attractiveness of pedestrian crossings which has positive effects on mobility of pedestrian traffic.
