摘要：

The Bicentennial of the May Revolution is being celebrated. Since the occurrence of the Revolution, deep social, economic, and political changes have taken place following pace with a new world order, new nations and a new distribution of power. This brief review delineates the situation and the context of medical practice in the Rio de la Plata in 1810.
