GREENLAND ICE HISTORY OF THE POLLUTION OF THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE NORTHERN-HEMISPHERE FOR LEAD DURING THE LAST 3 MILLENNIA

The frozen atmospheric archives that are stored in the Greenland ice sheet have allowed us to reconstruct the history of the large-scale pollution of the atmosphere of the northern hemisphere for Ph since the Copper Age, when ph was first produced as a by-product of Ag. Recently obtained data show that this pollution is the oldest ever reported; if was already significant during the Greek and Roman times more than two millennia before the industrial Revolution.
