摘要
Objective: To review the role of the complement system in infectious, autoimmune and degenerative diseases. Development : The components of Complement System could arrive to the central nervous system by diffusion throughout the blood-brain barrier or it may be synthesized in the proper central nervous system. It can be activated in the presence of antibodies such in infectious disorders or by links of C-1q with beta amiloid protein, Amiloid P protein or C-reactive protein in Alzheimer Disease. Intrathecal synthesis of C-3c and C-4 can be observed in infectious diseases. The complement system can be involved in the clearing of myelin rest as well as in axon remyelinization and in neurodegenerative disease like Parkinson and Alzheimer, complement factors play a roll in the physiopathology of such disorders because its activation was reported by determined proteins. In autoimmune diseases like miastenia gravis, the activation of the complement system could produce a deterioration of the patient. Conclusion: Complement system play an important role in the infectious, autoimmune and degenerative disorders in its physiopathology. The knowledge of this process can be important for therapeutics purposes.
