摘要
Conclusions: It was concluded that there was no evidence of risk in patients who received the vaccine, as well as in patients who did not receive the vaccine. Commentary: As is known there is confusion about the safety of vaccination against seasonal influenza to hospitalized surgical patients due to a possible complication such as fever or myalgias that could be confused as an in-hospital infection. The article is based on a retrospective cohort study. Primary outcomes of this study included rates of outpatient visits, readmission, or emergency room visits within 7 days after discharge. In addition, infection-related outcome rates, such as clinical laboratory fever for infection interventions, were evaluated for 7 days after discharge. Limitations of the study included lack of data distinguishing planned and unplanned readmissions or outpatient visits and short follow-up time. In addition, there may be unmeasured factors that influence the decision to offer or accept vaccination. And if the results can be generalized beyond the integrated Kaiser system and the population of Southern California. We can not, with the current data, recommend the prescription of influenza vaccination in my population to avoid post-surgical complications due to lack of statistically significant evidence.
