A Miscellany of Mesenchymal Neoplasms of the Head and Neck

Soft tissue and bone pathology can be diagnostically challenging for a variety of reasons including their rarity, as well as their subtle and diverse histologic features. This is particularly true for the head and neck region which is an uncommon site for both benign and malignant mesenchymal neoplasms, accounting for only 1% to 2% of head and neck malignancies. This review focuses on a diverse group of mesenchymal neoplasms, both exceptionally rare and the more common albeit still rather infrequent, stressing incidence and location, clinical presentation, and pathologic features.
