The cosmopolitan subject in the light of information and communication sciences

From the point of view of research in the field of mass communication, the cosmopolitical question finds a broader importance, for it sets politics around two main relations : the relation between individuals and plurals on the one hand, and the relation between local and global on the other hand. In Habernas' perspective these relations can be transliterated into two main political axis : action and communication. This article offers a distinction between both concepts which sets the basis for a cosmopolitical conception of non-national institutions, from which the case of the war in Iraq can eventually be analysed.
