摘要
This paper details a knowledge-based Technology Transfer Framework which attempts to ameliorate the transfer of technology between differing user communities through the use of knowledge-based authoring and browsing facilities. In contrast to current techniques, the system incorporates a large corpus of domain knowledge in a central and easily accessible information pooh In order to allow users to ''intelligently'' browse and navigate the information, there are a number of features available. These include the definition of a View or Perspective which can prune the knowledge base for pertinent domain information. The system architecture also includes a User Modelling component which combines explicit acquisition techniques, stereotypes, and implicit acquisition rules in order to create a dynamic model of the user's domain expertise. The information contained in the User Model attempts to ensure that the user follows a ''logical'' path through the knowledge base and sufficient help is provided during a consultation in order that the information which is accessed can be readily understood.
