摘要
The aim of this text is to analyse Nietzsche's utterances regarding the act of reading in his Foreword to the conferences On the Future of Our Educational Institutions (1872), in the context of his discussion on education and classical philology. Furthermore, I explore Nietzsche's other texts about these issues, with the aim to identify and to illustrate the very paradox of reading: parallel to the idea of the plurality of interpretations ("there are no facts, only interpretations"), he also proposes a rigorous conceptiot it can be put into the context of contemporary hermeneutics, especially in relatin about reading. What I intend to demonstrate is the fact that Nietzsche's theory of reading is grounded on his critique of modernity and thaon with the problem of the limits of interpretation and with the concept of subtilitas applicandi.
