Development of the “rabbit syndrome” as a side‐effect of long‐term neuroleptic treatment is described in a 75‐year‐old man residing in hospital. Awareness of this orofacial movement disturbance is particularly important, as unlike tardive dyskinesia it responds favourably to anticholinergic agents. Copyright © 1991 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
