Travel writing of German-speaking females' expedition of the Canary Islands

In this paper we would like, first, to present the basic features of the works of three German-speaking women authors about their voyages to the Canary Islands in the beginning of the 20th century. Secondly, we want to stress out the main differences of this three testimonials made by the authors and to separate them from the works of the many German speaking scientists which traveled to the Canaries in the 19th century. Finally we want to frame them within the european women's travel literature in general and especially the women's travel literature in German.
