Review of the Amendments by Act No. 6545 of the Provisions on Offenses against Sexual Immunity

Turkish Criminal Code provisions relating to crimes against sexual immunity was amended by the Act Amending the Turkish Criminal Code and some Acts numbered 6545 dated June 18, 2014. In this article, the provisions amended through Act No. 6545 on crimes against sexual immunity is examined. In the amendments context firstly, aggravated the penalties are discussed in terms of crime policy. Then, taking into account to the critiques of doctrine and practices, sexual assault (TCC art. 102), sexual abuses of children (TCC art. 103), sexual intercourse between/with persons not attained the lawful age (TCC art. 104) and sexual harassment (TCC art. 105) are mentioned. Finally, the execution of the punishment of such crimes is reviewed.
