An approach to the topography of cloister of the monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos (XI-XII centuries)

The cloister of the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos is one of the most important monuments preserved in the Spanish medieval art. It has been studied by Spanish and foreign researchers whose works and monographs on it have given rise to different readings. However, most of these studies have focused on the outstanding sculpture that contains the cloister, causing that cloistered office shave been almost unnoticed. The objective of this study is to analyze the architecture of the cloister, one of the most important examples of the manifestation of Romanesque and European monastic culture.
