A general cartography with some anticipation

In a society constantly surrounded by narrative events, the narrative theatre must be understood not only as the continuity of the soloist performer within the oral and folk tradition, but related to a much more complex and contradictory cartography. A wide view of this movement should necessarily consider aspects such as the sunset of the text primacy due to the crisis of representation, the minimization of the figure of theatre directors, the search of a new performers status, the importance of auto reflexivity or the enormous economical savings. In this sense, the present text aims to focus on some key elements and characteristics of the Italian 'teatro di narrazione' in order to understood it in more depth as well as to point out some important antecedents that can't be forgotten.
