摘要
This paper presents some experience from using a cationic polymer-bentonite microparticle retention aid system at an alkaline fine paper mill. An automatic control system on white water consistency maintains retention at a constant level with the polymer. Increase in the stability of the wet end was a direct result of this control loop. This procedure and access to a process database allowed identification and analysis of some important variables affecting retention.
