STABILITY OF THE D-WAVE RESONATING-VALENCE-BOND STATE AGAINST THE 1/4(PI/2)-FLUX PHASE STATE ON A TRIANGULAR LATTICE

We investigate the problem of the competition between the d-wave RVB state and the (pi/2)-flux phase (FP) state on a triangular lattice within the framework of renormalized mean-field theory, We find that in spite of the structure property and the specialities on treating these two states on a triangular lattice being quite different from those on a square lattice. the conclusion in the earlier work for the latter system still holds here, i.e., that the FP state is always unstable against the d-wave RVB state at whole doping cases.
