摘要：
A national survey of over 24 hospitals in Austria was carried out to collect routine clinical information on the outcomes of cataract surgery. The main interests were: the amount of surgeries, surgeons and the surgical method, the anesthesia type, the material and the design of the intraocular lens (IOL), the reason and the amount of the IOL explanations and the post-surgical routine therapy choice and duration. In 2016 over 76,192 cataract surgeries has been performed in Austria. The day case surgery rate is increasing (2015: 81%, 2011: 51%) Most of the centers prefer topical anaesthesia (92.3%). Over 225 IOL explantations has been reported. The main reason of the IOL explantation was the IOL dislocation. The day case cataract surgery is getting more common in Austria.
