SINTERING STUDIES ON HIGH ALKALI IRON-ORES OF EL-GEDIA DEPOSIT

摘要
Two iron ore samples with high and relatively low contents of alkalies were taken for studies from the Baharyia Oasis El-Gedida deposit which forms the most important iron ore deposit in Egypt. A series of sintering experiments were carried out on a blend of the ore at constant basicity and with variable amounts of coke breeze. Another two series of experiments were done at different basicities with constant amount of coke breeze (6%), one using the original ore blend and, the other, with desalted iron ore, i.e., its concentrate. The optimum sintering conditions for both the ore and its concentrate with regard to charge basicity and coke breeze addition have been established.
